The minister of Justice and Human Rights, Jose Tello Alfaro, announced that its portfolio is forming a multisector commission with the objective of seeing the issue of reparations for the relatives of the people who lost their lives in the protests that occurred within the country.
“It seems important to me from the Justice portfolio that we comply with the order of our president and prime minister and it is the fact that we are forming a multisectoral commission to look at the issue of reparations or solidarity support that we are going to give to the bereaved”, he said in dialogue with RPP Noticias last Saturday.
In this sense, the Minister of State explained that this issue will be discussed on next Tuesday December 27th. He added that it will be made up of civil society, such as the Human Rights Coordinatortwo representatives of the victims and different ministries.
“The commission is next week, on Tuesday. (…). It is a multisectoral commission, it has representatives from different ministries: Agriculture, Health, Education, PCM and there is Midis, which is even social, ”he commented.
Besides, Jose Tello pointed out that the formation of said commission is a state response and stressed that “These deaths cannot be in vain.”
“It is a response from the State to a situation, but it must be taken into account, it is a palliative because these deaths cannot be in vain, This type of situation cannot be repeated and illegal Peru cannot be allowed to intervene, because a healthy protest cannot become violent”, he pointed out.
