Assuring that they are not going to tell people which option to vote for, the minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency (Segpres), Giorgio Jackson, addressed the accusations of “electoral interventionism” made by the opposition, after the launch of the information campaign of the Government “Let’s Make History”, on the Exit Plebiscite for the New Constitution.
From RN, the UDI, and the Republican Party, warned that they will go to the Comptroller General of the Republic, accusing the administration of President Gabriel Boric of inciting the vote for Approval.

“The fact that each person has an option for the Plebiscite in no case means that we are going to tell people how to vote, because each person is big, they will be able to find out, they will arrive at a booth where they will be able to vote safely, freely, and that is what I think matters,” said Minister Jackson, in an interview with Chilevision.
“The two options are put in the same tenor, people have every right to vote Approve or Reject, but our duty as a Government is to be able to inform people that these options are available and how the other constitutions were built,” added the head of the Segpres.
Giorgio Jackson stated that “Let’s Make History” is not only something positive, it is also your duty as a government that people can understand how the Constitution was born, in what context, and how it has been done before. In this regard, the Secretary of State reviewed the statements made by President Gabriel Boric, who outlined his personal position by stating —precisely in the context of the launch of the campaign— that “you know where we come from, we have fought for a new Constitution for so long”.
Minister Jackson defended that “the President was also very clear when he said that it is not up to the Government to say how people have to vote, but everyone knows the role played by the President so that there would be an institutional process that channeled the differences that drifted after the blast, it’s not a mystery to anyone in the house.
