The Minister for Women, Diana Miloslavich, pointed out that she considers that President Pedro Castillo he is innocent of the accusations that weigh against him and that they have yet to “convince the entire country” of it.
“What I think is that the investigations are open, I think he is innocent, but we have to convince the whole country. The central issue here is democracy. I think there has to be a balance. In this situation, those who pay the consequences are the country as a whole.”, he told Successful.

“The Prosecutor’s Office is not closed, this vote of confidence must be resolved, without this the Cabinet cannot continue, but it must be pointed out that the focus must be put, all officials have to account for the acts and decisions they make”, he added.
Regarding the vote of confidence, the minister indicated that this is a decision of Congress. “The vote is not only for the Cabinet, it is a vote for democracy, we have to seek a balance between both powers of the State and society.”
“I trust that we will have the votes on Tuesday and then the congress will decide what its next steps will be”, he referred.
Investigation against Castillo Terrones
In January of this year, the National Prosecutor, Zoraida Avalos Rivera, opened a preliminary investigation against the President of the Republic, José Pedro Castillo Terrones, for the alleged commission of crimes against the public administration (aggravated influence peddling, in his capacity as copyright) and collusion (as a participant), to the detriment of the State.
In this investigation, there are facts attributable to the head of state in the tender for the ‘Puente Tarata III’ project (San Martín) and in the tender to supply Biodiesel B100 to Petroperú, in the period January-April 2022.
