The Minister of Citizenship, Ronaldo Vieira Bento, spoke today (17), on the The Voice of Brazil on government actions to guarantee income, food security and fight hunger, such as the Brasil Fraterno – Comida no Prato program, which encourages food donations by companies. The program was launched in November last year.
Vieira Bento explained how Brasil Fraterno avoids food waste and the importance of the program for food and nutrition security.
The minister also spoke about Alimenta Brasil, a food purchase program from family farmers, extractivists, artisanal fishermen, indigenous peoples and other traditional populations.
Viera Bento said how this initiative has helped families in situations of social vulnerability.
