In a colorful and emotional ceremony, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Desilú León, inaugurated the Gastronomic Fair “Peru, Merp, the most important culinary showcase in the country, which this year has as its stage the Park Peru, in the district of Pocollay, of the city of Tacna.
This is the eighth edition of this Fair in Tacna, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) and the Peruvian Promotion Commission for Export and Tourism (Promperú), and the second scheduled for this year in the national territory.
A total of 129 exhibitors
“This fair not only gathers flavors of our 25 regions of the country, but also summons thousands of Peruvians and foreigners, especially our brothers from Chile, who cross the border from Arica to share this palate party, which has already become a binational tradition,” said the head of Minderec.
It also has the participation of 129 exhibitors, including restaurants, bakeries, producers, wineries, food trucks, among others. On this occasion, the public will be able to taste a diversity of emblematic dishes such as the marinade to the tacneña, the chicken pickle, the spicy of Cuy and the pig to the stick. “The good table of the country is testimony of what we are like Peruvians: diverse, generous, creative and deeply proud of our identity,” said Minister Desilú León.
Festival for Patrias Fiestas
“Peru, Merry Tacna Gusting” is open to the public from July 25 to 28, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the framework of celebrations for Patrias Fiestas.
The headline of Mincetur said that for this edition of “Peru, Much Taste Tacna” more than 100 thousand visits from national citizens and foreign tourists are projected and an economic movement of S/ 16 million is estimated for the Tacna region. “We hope that between 14 thousand and 16 thousand citizens of Chile they can visit the ‘Peru, Mucho Gusting’ fair. Our projection goes beyond what is recorded last year. It is a huge effort in work and budget because we believe that gastronomic tourism moves the economy, ”added the minister.
