The Minister of Justice, louis cordero, addressed the Senate’s approval of the Naín-Retamal Law in the early hours of Wednesday morning, which was sent to the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies. Regarding the changes made to the project during the conference, Cordero pointed out that “it is a satisfactory solution.”
“In the opinion of the Executive, the solution is satisfactory from the perspective that tries to protect different interests. On the one hand, it is very precise that the legitimate defense of the police, is carried out exclusively in those hypotheses of protection of life, their integrity or of third parties,” said the head of Justice from Congress.

He also commented that “the Executive promoted together with the senators two norms that were of special concern to the Executive in the debate of the Commission yesterday. The first had to do with the exemption of command responsibility and the second with the restriction of the hypotheses of illegitimate coercion”.
Along these lines, he explained that “both have been corrected in today’s session, the first rejected and the second eliminated in aspects that limited those hypotheses.”
