The Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, ordered the Cicpc “to reinforce intelligence and police action to counteract terrorist attacks from Colombia.”
Such information was offered by Ceballos through his twitter account from where he indicated that he held a security meeting on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Cicpc-Parque Carabobo, Caracas.
The Minister said that the instructions given to the scientific police are in turn derived from what was ordered by President Nicolás Maduro, who two days ago warned of violent actions being prepared from Colombia against Venezuela. Already last April, Maduro warned that police posts and their officials would be attacked.
In another event, the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) activated this Wednesday the Directorate of Strategic and Tactical Actions (Daet), which will work in El Helicoide and will be headed by General Commissioner Miguel Domínguez.
The director of the PNB, Elio Estrada Paredes, explained from his Instagram account that it is about centralizing all operations in the newly created Daet. Therefore, this directorate will group together all the dependencies: of the PNB: Criminal Investigation Division, Special Tactical Operations Unit, Motorized Division, Division Against Organized Crime, Vehicular Patrol Division, Canine Division, Anti-Drug Division, of Strategic Intelligence, Division Against Theft and Vehicle Theft, Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Division.
Estrada Paredes said that the “High Police Command is committed to the last and will continue to carry out its functions and protocol efficiently in search of using police power for the common good of all Venezuelans.”
