The sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, revealed that thanks to the intelligence work of the security agencies, a terrorist attack was frustrated that would be carried out in the monument of the victory of the Great Patria War against Nazifascism, located in Plaza Venezuela, last Sunday.
In this case, 13 people have been captured, all linked to the cells of violence called by the extreme right as “clandestine units.”
He explained that thanks to the statements of spokespersons of the extreme right, monitoring and prevention mechanisms were activated, preventing the realization of this terrorist plan for which they used the citizen José Daniel Ortega (arrested), who was in charge of placing the artifact he would detonate in the aforementioned square.
Minister Cabello said that during the operation a bag with explosive artifacts, analog phones, three kilos of TNT (explosive), among other strategic materials was seized. In this regard, he questioned, “how many people could have died,” in case that artifact had exploited.
“There is a square that has a gas outlet for the lamp that is there, that is to explode there was combined with the gas (…) is also the subway station, a service station, the passing cars, all that was going to impact it. Imagine you have exploded that,” he warned.
He recalled that for seven months a criminal alliance between drug traffickers, conspirators and criminal gangs that made life in Venezuela has been denounced, which today insists on executing this type of actions to disturb the peace of the country.
He reiterated that this terrorist act is part of a plan orchestrated by the extreme right, “always under the direction of the United States”, with the aim of attacking national government personalities, military facilities, service stations and public spaces.
He said that the sectors of the ultra -right allies to drug trafficking and criminal gangs just try to cause violence in the country, because they believe that as a consequence “they will generate a regime change in our country, to achieve the exit of President Nicolás Maduro; and with the departure of President Maduro, which they call the end of the revolution.”
In this regard, he questioned that the international community “does not like to listen to what happens here in Venezuela or the efforts made by a people who want to live in peace, and against those who without any scruples want to subvert order and end the tranquility of Venezuelans and Venezuelans.”

The Minister for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace explained that the citizen José Daniel García Ortega went to 11:32 am on Sunday, August 3 to Plaza Venezuela, carrying a bag where he carried the explosive and an analog telephone device, leaves him in the place where the fact would be perpetrated and leaves once he dispossessed him.

On the tour, towards the place where the terrorist act would be executed, García in the company of another person went down at the Fine Arts station, took a bus that would take them to Plaza Venezuela; When he got off, this second person tells him that he would wait for him on the bridge, while he left the bag in the place he told him (behind the columns of the monument), then he took a truck and got off in front of the Rental Zone station and grabbed course towards the Hoyada, there he met alias “La Negra” and “The Skinny”, the three took a bus towards the valleys of the Tuy.
Upon arriving at his house he proceeded to tell his mother and told him that he would leave the country after committing this act.
García Ortega traveled to Táchira with the idea of moving to Colombia, but it was there when his capture occurs by the Venezuelan authorities, who had been following the track of this citizen.
