Minister Andrés Bautista swines to Alberto Caminero as the new press director of the president

Santo Domingo.- The administrative minister of the Presidency, Andrés Bautista, He swore on Wednesday to Carlos Alberto Caminero Sánchez, designated by the president Luis Abinader through Decree 461-25, as director of the President’s Press Directorate (DPP).

The ceremony was held in the office of the Press Directorate of the President, in the National Palace.

When presiding over the transfer of command, the Minister Bautista highlighted the capacity and delivery of the designated official, ensuring that his experience and commitment guarantee the good performance of the functions entrusted by the President Luis Abinader.

“We know that with the experience it has and the commitment that has always dismantled the work that the president Luis Abinader He has put in his hands. ”

During the protocol ceremony, the outgoing director, Daniel García Archibald, was present, who held the position since 2021, the year the institution was created. He was also present the Director of the Directorate of Government Strategy and Communication (Diecom), Félix Reyna.

Semblance

Caminero Sánchez began his journalistic career in 1982 in the morning newspaper El Sol. Subsequently, he was deputy director in Radio Mil and in 2000 he assumed the popular radio direction.

On television, he is the founder of the news window (2000) programs and at the same time (2016). He has been a commentator today, transmitted by color vision. He currently directs and analyzes in the morning program 5 (Telemicro) and leads in contact (Telecentro).

With more than four decades of experience, it has established itself as one of the most influential political editors in the country, collaborating in media such as the sun, the national, the nation and last minute.

Performance in the Public Function

In the public sector, he has held relevant positions, including press director of the City of the National District, during the management of José Francisco Peña Gómez (1983-1990); of the Ministry of Agriculture (1990-1991); and of the Dominican Port Authority (2000-2003).

From 2003 to 2007 he was press director of the Senate of the Republic. He was also part of the Communication Cabinet of the Dominican Municipal League (LMD), where he worked for several years.

Union exercise

He has performed important functions in journalistic associations, such as the General Secretariat of the Dominican College of Journalists (CDP) between 2005 and 2009. He was also executive director of the Circle of Political Chroniclers and is President Ad Vitam of the Association of Political Chroniclers (ACP).

Recognition

His work has been awarded multiple occasions, including with the El Principal del Year Award (1993), the Independence Awards in Miami (1997), The Order of Civil Merit (2004), the journalistic merit medal of the Dominican College of Journalists (2022) and a tribute of the World Academy in 2023.
