Mininter modifies regulation of the National Citizen Security System Law

He Home Office promulgated on Wednesday the Supreme Decree No. 001-2025-INwhich modifies the Regulation of Law No. 27933, Law of the National Citizen Security System, approved by Supreme Decree No. 011-2024-IN, to adapt it to the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 1618.

The document modifies 24 articles and establishes new definitions, as well as responsibilities of other sectors. In that sense, he points out that citizen security is the “integrated and articulated multisectoral action developed by the State, with the participation of the private sector, organized civil society and citizenship.”

It also indicates that crime prevention refers to the “set of strategies and measures aimed at reducing the risk of crimes or acts of interpersonal violence, as well as their possible harmful effects for people and society, including fear of the fear of the delinquency”.

It also establishes that the Ministry of Interior is the governing body of the National Citizen Security System (SINSEC) and has to “design, monitor and evaluate, within the framework of its competences, policies, plans, programs, strategies, projects, projects and activities in matters of citizen security “.

The Mininter must also inform the National Council of Citizen Security (CONASEC) about the advances in the implementation of citizen security policies. This organ is the “maximum organism of the system, responsible for guiding the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of citizen security policies”.

Conasec ordinarily meets four times to years and at least two meetings are decentralized. In addition, it establishes that it is dependent on the Presidency of the Republic, but its presidency falls to the presidency of the Council of Ministers.
