Work on the tailings dam antamina began, according to the company Soletanche Bachy of the Vinci Group.
The objective of the work of rock grouting that will be deployed in the structure will serve “to waterproof the rocky strata where the expansion of the dam will be supported,” as specified by the company.
The French firm also highlighted that the works will last about six months.
The general manager of the company, Juan Carlos Rivera Baca, explained that this is the third time that they have worked with this company that is dedicated to mining.
“We are very happy to once again receive Antamina’s confidence, it is our third contract with them that forces us to continue improving,” Rivera Baca asserted.
Soletanche Bachy’s activities will require 150 workersfour small diameter drilling rigs and two grouting plants specially designed for this project.
