This setback, explained the business association, was a consequence of the lower value of shipments of almost all metals, with the exception of zinc.
Likewise, he specified that in the case of the sale abroad of copper it was reduced by 5.3%, if compared to the US$20,698 million that were exported a year earlier. “In the year 2022 the exported value of copper decreased by US$1.1 billion,” he added.

“Auriferous exports at the end of last year amounted to US$10,114 million, which meant a reduction of only 0.1% compared to 2021 (US$10,121 million),” said the SNMPE.
In the same way, the energy mining union indicated that shipments of iron were reduced by US$483 million and those of lead by US$268 million.
On the other hand, he explained that last December mining exports reached US$3,415 million, which implied a 5.8% drop compared to the same month of 2021 (US$3,625 million).
