With little call at first, the residents of the province of Espinar, resumed the blockade of the Southern Mining Corridor in the Huisapata area, where they interrupted the passage of the encapsulated Antapaccay mining company, with stones and tires.
The demonstration began in the early hours of last Monday, however, as the day passed, the spirits were losing and the march programmed jointly to the blockade did not take place in the city of Espinar.
Earlier, the residents of this Cusco province had announced a 24-hour strike, later an indefinite strike, the latter is yet to be determined, because this Tuesday the residents have been invited to a meeting with the authorities of the area so that they present their points, especially those concerning the delivery of the bonus of two thousand soles.
In statements to Mailthe prefect of Cusco, Mauro Quispe, points out that the protest measure is carried out despite the approval of the Framework Management Committee for the delivery of the bonus of two thousand soles to all the inhabitants of Espinar.
“Despite the fact that the management committee has already announced that two thousand soles will be delivered to the beneficiaries, they have not agreed. in some aspects and that is why they are claiming, the Police is already in place in order to provide the constitutional guarantees of law”he pointed.
Another of the residents’ claims is against the Coroccohuayco Integration Project, for which they request a new social license survey, in addition to demanding the reformulation of the Framework Agreement between the province of Espinar and the Antapaccay mining company, there are also claims against the government of the provincial mayor Lolo Arenas
The community members have mentioned that they expect a visit from the President of the Republic himself, Pedro Castillo, together with his premier and Ministers of Energy and Mines, Housing, Sanitation and Transportation.
