As of January 1, 2023, the minimum wage, which is currently R$1,212, will be R$1,302.
The updated value is in a provisional measure published on Monday (12) in Official Diary of the Union??
In a note, the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic explained that the value considers an inflation variation of 5.81%, plus a real gain of around 1.5%.
“The value of R$ 1,302.00 refers to the national minimum wage. The value is applicable to all workers, in the public and private sector, as well as for retirement and pensions”, adds the note.
As it is a provisional measure, the text will have to be analyzed by deputies and senators. The same new value for the minimum wage was already provided for in the 2023 Annual Budget Law (LOA) project, which was sent to the National Congress in August.
