Minimum wage for 2025: Acrip assures that the increase should not be more than 7%

The Colombian Federation of Human Management (Acrip) stated that the increase in the legal minimum wage in force in the country for 2025 should not exceed 7%, this in relation to an analysis of salary projections based on a National Wage and Benefits Investigation.

According to the human resources union, which consulted 1,044 positions from 32 business sectorsorganizations have a salary increase projection for 2025 of 6.97% on average, so the increase in the minimum wage should not be above 7% so as not to affect the companies’ finances.

(You can read: Minimum wage: this is how the figure for 2025 would look with the proposals that have been made).

According to Gladys Vega, president of AcripWhat the Research reveals to us is that in recent years the increase in the minimum wage has been above inflation, but below the percentage increase in the minimum wage, which means that organizations do not have the budgetary capacity to increase to that rhythm, generating that more people in Colombia are earning minimum wage. That is why we propose that the increase in the SMLV for 2025 be in line with the payment capacity of the business sector, which aims for a maximum of 7%.”.
