It should be noted that a minimum pension for S/600 has been established. To access, workers must complete 240 contributions (20 years). Said amount will be received independently of the balance they have in their background.
“The pension is built with what one contributes. But in case a person could not contribute much, or the income during their working life is short, they will access a minimal pension,” he said and pointed out that, over time, and according to the availability of the Peruvian state, the S/600 can be increased.
Montoya also stressed that with the reform proportional pensions have also been established. Thus, a person who made since 180 contributions and less than 240 will receive monthly S/400 when he retires. Meanwhile, who contributed more than 10 years and less than 15, will charge S/300.
For his part, the president of Perucámaras, Oscar Zapata, said that the implementation of the modernization of the system is “a jump for stability” and to ensure the old age of people.
“With these changes there should not be a single person who does not have a pension, which is a benefit to the State because when someone who does not contribute, when he retires it is the State who has to take care,” he said.
In that line, he questioned that there are parliamentary proposals that point to an eighth withdrawal of the AFP funds. He also pointed out that if such a measure is approved in Parliament, the Executive must observe it.
