The Finance Minister Jose Antonio Ocampo, made the presentation of the tax reform project before the third joint commissions of Congress. The text was filed on August 8 and with which $25.9 billion is sought.

One of the points on which the congressmen inquired has to do with the destinations that will have the resources received thanks to the reform.
“What are we going to spend the resources on? We are going to incorporate that into the draft of the national budget,” said Ocampo, who questioned that the budget was presented by the last government and for now the demands of the ministries are being consolidated to know how to prioritize resources, but there will be a focus on social and environmental programs.

“We are going to propose an increase, suddenly we cannot incorporate the collection of the tax reform, for legal reasons, we would have to make a budget addition next year,” he said.
