Minerd induction program trains more than 47,000 new teachers

Five thousand six hundred four New teachers will complete their training process at the end of October within the National Induction Program (PNI), an initiative of the Ministry of Education which, since 2022, has certified more than 47,000 teachers throughout the country.

The data marks a cycle closure and, at the same time, a consolidation of a public policy that seeks to accompany new educators in their first years of service, connecting them with experienced mentors and offering methodological tools to improve learning in classrooms.

“This program has given me the methodological tools to advance in teaching-learning process“, he expressed Gregoris Gonzalezteacher at the Professor Ramón Muñoz de Pascal School, in Montecristi.

The testimonies are repeated in different regions. Arlenys Torresteacher of Professor Yolanda Altagracia Educational Center, in Santiagohe recalled that the accompaniment helped him overcome fear of the first year in front of the classroom: “I learned that I was not alone. Today I enjoy seeing how my students are motivated when learning

The program, promoted by the Minister of Education Luis Miguel De Camps, is part of the axes of continuity and improvement of the Roadmap 2025-2028 and of Horizon 2034 Planaimed at guaranteeing inclusive and quality education.

In practice, the PNI has become a new methodologies laboratory. Cecilia Vasquez Abreuof the Regional 08sums it up like this:

“Before taught formulas; Today we teach together to discover the world.”

The program is developed with the support of Inafocamhe Isfodosuhe Ideaicethe 512 Institute and the National Induction Commission. Through workshops, advice and personalized mentoring, it seeks to consolidate a culture of collaborative learning between teachers new and old.

Facing the school year 2025-2026he minerd plans the incorporation of some 4,000 additional teacherswhich will expand national coverage and strengthen the pedagogical skills of a new generation of educators.

The impact is measured in the classrooms, not in the numbers. In each province, the testimonies repeat the same idea: the teaching stopped being a lonely task.
