The transfer of resources to the regions generated by mining activity, which include the mining canon, legal and contractual mining royalties, as well as validity and penalty rights, until April 2022 totaled more than S/ 3,761 million, reported the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).
According to the edition of the Mining Statistical Bulletin, these resources generated by mining activity constitute an important source of financing for regional and local governments, since they are used for the execution of public projects, in order to generate jobs and improve the quality of life of citizens of various regions of the country.
In addition, he explained that the mining canon advance was made in January of this year, and amounted to more than S / 2,289 million.

For their part, transfers for legal and contractual mining royalties, as of April, exceeded S/ 1,459 million. The amounts transferred for this concept are a consequence of the profits generated in the first quarter of 2022.
Likewise, the document prepared by the General Directorate for Mining Promotion and Sustainability of the Minem, indicated that the transfers by right of validity and penalty exceeded S / 13 million as of March 2022.

The statistical report also reveals which were the regions that received the most resources in the fourth month of the year:
Áncash maintained the first position with more than S/ 1,039 million, which represented 27.6% of the total transferred.
In second place, Ica with an amount greater than S/ 566 million and a 15% share; and Tacna appears in third position with a figure that exceeds S/ 466 million, which represents 12.4% of the total resources distributed.
