This announcement was made after a space for intercultural dialogue with the indigenous peoples of Cauca represented in the CRIC Regional Indigenous Council. “After a dialogue throughout the day we came to the conclusion of increasing the typology 20%, which had been 0 for the last 3 consecutive years. This translates into more resources for the community and the guarantee of the right to education to children and adolescents from all over the country”assured Minister Gaviria.
The news comes after that in the period 2019 – 2022, the allocations per student did not increase, accumulating a real value loss of 26%. For this reason, in December 2022, the Ministry of National Education made the decision to increase the allowances per student in 2023 by 10.25%, a figure that corresponds to the increase in the General Participation System bag.

The previous decision was made in the midst of the structural underfunding of the General System of Participations, on which the Ministry is advancing in concrete solutions through the National Development Plan and the structuring of a constitutional reform to the SGP.
