The Army and Police rescued nine kidnapped people in Huila and captured alias Richard, responsible for the motorcycle bomb attack in April.
In the last hours, in a joint operation between the National Army and the National Police, in the San Miguel village, rural area of La Plata, Huila, nine people who were kidnapped for 46 days were rescued.
In this unprecedented operation, the authorities captured two members of the Hernando González Acosta substructure, of the Isaías Pardo Central Block, of the alias dissidents Ivan Mordisco.

According to the authorities’ report, among those captured is Ricardo Alfonso Guainas Guachetá, alias Richardwho would have ordered the terrorist attack on April 17 in this area of the country, where the brothers Luisa Fernanda and Sergio Trujillo Peña lost their lives, and another 33 people were injured.
It is worth remembering that, one day after the attack, the Minister of Defense, Pedro Sanchezand the military leadership arrived in the region to lead the investigations. During that visit, the minister and senior commanders committed to capturing alias Richard, the perpetrator of the crime.
Call from the minister and the leadership
After seven months of investigations, monitoring and intelligence work, the authorities captured the dissident who ordered the terrorist action.
That is why, in a video call, the Minister of Defense, Pedro Sánchez; the commander of the Military Forces, Admiral Francisco Cubides; the commander of the National Army, General Luis Emilio Cardozo; and the deputy director general of the National Police, General Rosemberg Novoa, communicated the news to Jesús David Lagos Peña, a relative of the victims.

“Today I can tell you that we fulfilled it. Alias Richard was captured. He was the one who installed the motorcycle bomb that April 17 and murdered Luisa Fernanda and Sergio. Alias Carla, alias Quipo and also alias Alex had already been captured. Despite the pain, I believe that this news somehow alleviates that irreparable absence and we are doing justice,” said Minister Pedro Sánchez.
The Army and the Police, in this action, were available high technological and human capabilities, as well as detailed military and police intelligence work, who since April began work to understand the movements and the area where this criminal moved.
