As part of the policy to promote and consolidate export activity, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) reported that this year it is expected to commit S / 17 million after completing the second call for the Internationalization Support Program (PAI), that will finance 56 additional companies that managed to pass all the stages of the evaluation.
The head of the Mincetur, Roberto Sánchez, assured that in this second call 166 companies presented themselves, of which 56 passed the evaluation processes.
“The operator (ProInnóvate) is holding preliminary meetings with said companies for the signing of non-reimbursable resource contracts, after which they will begin the execution of projects within the framework of the program”, he referred.
At the sector level, 34 companies belong to the agricultural sector, eight are from the textile and clothing sector, 10 are from other manufactures and four are service companies.
With these results, he indicated that it is expected to commit resources for S/ 17 million, leaving only S/ 3 million to carry out a third PAI contest, which is expected to be launched in the first quarter of next year, hoping to benefit 34 additional companies.
It should be noted that the second call was launched on May 26, 2022, which only had the following modalities: Export Entrepreneurship, Enhancement of Exports and Consolidation of Export Activity. The commercial implementation modality was not available because in the 2021 contest it already covered the quota established in the bases.
It is planned to hold an award event for the winning initiatives, which will take place on December 19.
The Internationalization Support Program (PAI) is a Mincetur instrument, operated by ProInnóvate of the Ministry of Production (Produce), which aims to strengthen, promote and accelerate the internationalization process of companies through the co-financing of activities that allow them to improve their capacities and management skills.
The winning companies receive co-financing from S/ 70,000 to S/ 300,000.
