The Civil Police of Minas Gerais is looking for inmates who escaped last Saturday (20) from the Gameleira Prisoner Relocation Center. Four men escaped using fake release permits that were inserted into the justice system by a hacker. One of the fugitives was captured this Tuesday (23).
In a statement, the Minas Gerais police stated that “investigations are underway with the aim of investigating the circumstances of what happened, as well as identifying responsibilities and locating any fugitives.”
According to information from National Radiothe Court of Justice of Minas Gerais identified the scheme less than 24 hours after the hacker’s actions and the permits were cancelled.
Mateus Simões, vice-governor of Minas, said that no one else has managed to leave prison using this type of fraud. Furthermore, according to National Radiofrom now on there will be a delay in the fulfillment of release permits so that possible new frauds can be checked in the system.
The National Council of Justice (CNJ) reported that there was no invasion or structural violation of the judicial systems under its administration. And he added that, so far, there is no indication of systemic failure or the functional involvement of servers.
