Milk production in the country will increase 7.01% by the end of 2024

Strengthening cheese factories

Promegan will also seek to strengthen the production capacities of the more than 700 cheese factories nationwide, establishing a program that identifies these locations and offers them support with financing and machinery. It is estimated that cheese factories generate up to 36,000 jobs nationwide.

Loans to sector

For his part, the executive director of the National Council for the Regulation and Promotion of the National Dairy Industry (Conaleche), Miguel Laureano, reported that 264 producers of milk At the national level they have had access to credits valued at 363.4 million pesos.

These resources have been allocated, mostly, to the purchase of livestock – with 147.9 million pesos approved to 147 producers– and working capital – with 146.5 million pesos distributed among 11 loans-.

This was followed by the approval of 36 loans for the improvement and ownership of pasture development (44.4 million pesos), 17 credits for the acquisition of machinery and equipment (with 20.6 million pesos) and three loans for a change in the energy matrix of the collection centers (3.9 million pesos).

Prevention of diseases

Meanwhile, the general director of Livestock, Abel Madera, stated that the institution has focused on strengthening animal health through prevention and control of diseases affecting livestock, such as brucellosis, bovine tuberculosis, classical swine fever (CSF), avian influenza and Newcastle disease.
