The measure seeks to reinforce road and citizen safety in the main avenues and urban areas while work is being done to restore the electrical system, the military institution reported.
The Dominican Electric Transmission Company (ETED) confirmed that the country faces a general blackout (blackout) caused by a breakdown in the transmission system.
According to the entity, the output of the generation units of the San Pedro Electric Company of Macorís (CESPM) and the Quisqueya Power Plant generated a chain effect which affected other plants, including EDAC and AES Andrés.
Given the situation, Fernandez Onofre ordered the Armed forces deploy personnel at strategic points to assist law enforcement agents Digestett in traffic regulation and guaranteeing security during the contingency.
