Military police and residents clash over the use of land for the AIFA

Since October 17, 2019, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador gave the starting signal for the airport works, whose construction was in charge of the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena). The work was inaugurated on March 21, 2022, however with some aspects still to be finished.

In the surroundings of the AIFA, there are families for whom the work represented a direct impact, since their houses were expropriated because they are located on the Tonanitla Viaduct, a 13-kilometer road with free access from the Mexico – Pachuca highway to the new Airport.
