The incident occurred in the afternoon of this Friday on Pitiantuta and San Antonio streets, in the Jara neighborhood in Asunción.
Two vehicles were involved, one of them overturned spectacularly, as can be seen through closed circuit images.
The vehicle responsible for the accident was commanded by Sergeant José Asunción Estigarribia, a member of the Presidential Escort Regiment. The soldier was apparently under the influence of alcohol.
The other vehicle was commanded by a woman, who was in the company of her mother (grandmother) and her two minor children (one 4 years old and the other 8 months old). Both children were referred to the Trauma Hospital.
The military personnel were detained and remained at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
