The situation in the hospital was known through an audio recorded by a student, and whose veracity was confirmed by CONFIDENTIAL, in which a soldier, who was guarding the entrance to the medical center, told him: “Show me your thumbs, please.”
The UAM medical student questioned the measure and refused to show her thumbs. Then, the man asked for his card and told him to request more information in “Oficialía”. She was one of those affected because they did not allow her to enter the place, according to the audio.
For his part, Colonel Álvaro Francisco Rivas, head of the Public and Foreign Directorate of the Nicaraguan Army, admitted in statements to the newspaper La Prensa that “a sentinel made this request” and that they took “pertinent measures and clarifications and apologies were expressed. corresponding “.
