The Brazilian Éder Militao underwent surgery this Tuesday for the complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament with damage to both menisci in the right knee that he suffered on November 9, during the match against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to Real Madrid, the intervention, which was “successful”, was carried out by Dr. Manuel Leyes under the supervision of the white club’s medical services, and “his recovery process will begin in the coming days.”

Militao was injured in the 27th minute, when he went to finish off a set piece, and in the Osasuna area his knee got stuck and he fell to the grass with clear gestures of pain. His teammates quickly called the doctors and the Brazilian center back was taken off on a stretcher.

The Brazilian international defender already suffered a serious injury, on that occasion to his left knee, on the first day of LaLiga last season, on August 12, 2023 in San Mamés. It was also Dr. Leyes who operated on him for the tear in his anterior cruciate ligament.

The Brazilian center back returned to the playing field on March 31, also against Athletic in the league match.
