This Sunday, the Association of Marketing Managers of Uruguay (ADM) announced through its social networks that it will hold a working lunch on December 6, in which the main speaker will be the Argentine president, Javier Milei.
“ADM welcomes Javier Milei @JMilei, President of the Argentine Republic, who will be honorary speaker at the next ADM Working Lunch,” reads a post on social network X from the organization’s official account.
According to the poster shared by ADM, the event will be on December 6 at 12 noon in the ballroom of the Radisson Victoria hotel, in Plaza Independencia.
Milei arrives in Montevideo to shoot against Mercosur
The visit of the far-right and libertarian economist takes place in the context of the Mercosur summit, which will take place this week in Montevideo. There, he will assume the pro tempore presidency of the bloc with a secessionist speech that calls for the division of the multilateral organization.
His speech, which goes from religious ultra-conservatism to absolute market liberalism (quasi-anarcho-capitalist)goes through constant criticism of Mercosur and insults to left-wing leaders such as the Brazilian Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, with whom he said that he was never going to negotiate anything because he is a “communist”, but who had to tone down his speech a little to respect one of Argentina’s main trading partners.
He had also said during the campaign that China is governed by “murderers” with whom he was not going to trade under any circumstances. It seems that he changed his mind, motivated by economic reasons, because now he qualifies them as “fabulous partners”.
Recently, it was also the cover of the cover The Economista prestigious financial magazine based in the United Kingdom, crowned with the phrase “My contempt for the State is infinite”. In his conversation with the media, he reaffirmed the idea that, in his opinion, any restriction on free enterprise or the free market is “socialism” and threatened: “everything I can do to eliminate State interference, I will do.” do”.
