Sportivo Luqueño has managed to add 34 points out of a possible 51 in the Intermediate Division, product of 10 wins, four draws and three losses in 17 games played. Argentine strategist Miguel Zahzú gave an overview of the performance of his team in the first round, explaining that the objectives are very clear.
What is the purpose for this part of the tournament?
The truth is that we are at a stage where the objective is to add three to stay in the top squad and today the team comes from three straight wins, plus the victory for the Paraguayan Cup. I look for the moments of each footballer to use it. I see a team that is maturing, that is overcoming different situations, we came back from the last two games, satisfied with the performance, wanting to find the moments to strengthen them, I consider that some aspects still need to be strengthened.
What can you say about Sp. Luqueño in Intermediate?
For us it was a pleasant surprise to be able to insert young people trained in the club and who are up to the task. It was something that we thought we could do gradually and suddenly we made a very dynamic decision. We must be the youngest team in the category with an average age of 20 to 22 years. All of this gives a lot of satisfaction, seeing how they grow and how they adapt to the game that one intends. The Intermediate is a very competitive championship and finding 10 wins fills you with favorable prospects.
How is the institution sporting?
The club must be in an unbeatable stage in recent years, the final and main objective remains to be seen, there is a way to go, we hope to be able to maintain the emotional and football balance to be able to achieve with structures what has been trying, promotion, we will be one of the teams that will be fighting until the end.
How do you see the sports scenarios that are used in the tournament?
That is a problem in our football, sometimes we get distracted and do not focus on what it means to demand that the playing fields be better in order to develop or practice a style that is more in line with the ideal. There are playing fields that can be used, we should organize ourselves to use fields that are more comfortable for everyone, for footballers, growth. In that sense, I think we are not thinking about the footballer, beyond the teams’ proposal, the poor conditions complicate the footballer and the show.
How did you go about finding the right relays?
Variants are always on the lookout for you, you always have to be prepared when having a large squad, that’s why we try to support them by having them active enough so that they can enter, solve and be part of it. We tried to hide it, because Derlis Alegre was a very important loss in football. Personally and emotionally, what happened to us hurt all of us, he has to undergo surgery, he will have a recovery of six to eight months, the truth was a strong blow for everyone and in sports he suffers.

I don’t think about the fans, but about what we feel.
