NEW YORK.- A young Hispanic identified by the authorities as Miguel Vargas, 22 years old and presumably Dominican, was shot to death this Monday night in the 689 E. building on 187th Street, between Cambreleng and Beaumont avenues, in the Italian neighborhood in the bronxthe police reported.
The victim, who lived in the same county, fell inside the building when he was shot, and the police received an emergency call about the incident, going to the scene, transferring Vargas to Saint Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The uniformed has not reported the motives for the murder. The gunman fled and is pursued by a detective squad from the 48th Precinct. The investigation continues.
Within days, a few blocks from this incident, brothers Devren and Jeremiah Smith, ages 37 and 24, were also shot dead on East Tremont and Hughes avenues in The Bronx.
