Although many people thought that Polo Polo was going to burn out in his campaign attempt, they did not expect that Polo Polo would seriously contest a seat in Congress.
On March 15, the Registrar’s Office reported that with the pre-count, with 99 percent of the months included, Polo Polo had 35,253 votes, compared to 34,308 votes. of Lina Martínez García, daughter of the former senator convicted of parapolitics, Juan Carlos Martínez. that is, the difference between the two in the pre-count was just 950 votes.
After the count, it was said that 1,500 votes appeared for Martínez, with which Polo Polo lost the seat, and many of his opponents made fun of this fact.
However, this Friday it was confirmed that after a long legal dispute over claims within the National Electoral Council, the authority decided to deliver the credential to Miguel Polo Polo which credits him as Colombian congressman for the period 2022 – 2026.
The credential is given on behalf of the Afro-descendants Special Circumscription; consequently, he will be installed in his seat on July 20.
Although many expected Polo Polo came out to respond to all those who made fun of him when he lost his seat. “It’s not a vindictive emotion, but like when you have a burden and it goes away, like when you take a weight off your shoulders, like that,” Polo Polo said in an interview with Semana.
He also wrote a scathing message to all his critics on his networks: “GOD gave us this seat and only HE can take it away.
