Miguel Mora, on a hunger strike so that the regime allows him to see his son

The political prisoner and owner of the media outlet 100% Noticias, Michael Morawas seen for the ninth time, this Saturday, July 23, at the Judicial Assistance Directorate (DAJ) in Managua, 46 days after the last visit.

Journalist Verónica Chávez, wife of the presidential candidate, informed 100% Noticias that Mora started an indefinite hunger strike 30 days ago because the judicial authorities do not allow her to see her sonMiguel Mora Chávez, known as “Miguelito”, 20 years old, with some degree of disability.

Prior to this visit, the regime hostage had lost 30 pounds, brought on by poor nutrition and captivity. They assure that this time he has seven pounds less.

«He —Miguel Mora— demands that they allow him to see his son Miguelito; The boy is suffering a lot from not seeing his father and has had a mood crisis,” Chavez told the media outlet.

According to the again prisoner of conscience, the officials of the dictatorship remark —during the repeated interrogations— that they do not allow his son to enter “for security”. Miguelito has not seen Mora for more than a year, after he was arrested for the second time on 20, 2021 by the Daniel Ortega Police.

Another of the journalist’s demands is that he be allowed to have a Bible, which he has demanded since he was in captivity in “El Nuevo Chipote.”

Chávez expressed concern about the repercussions that Miguel Mora may have on his health due to the hunger strike, “and above all I am worried about Miguelito, the emotional damage my son suffers is devastating.”

Ortega’s victim

Ortega’s justice accused the journalist of allegedly conspiring “to undermine national integrity” and the Second Judge of the Criminal District of Managua, Nadia Camila TardencillaHe was sentenced to 13 years in prison.

The journalist was subjected to attacks, cyber harassment by supporters of the regime and since the end of 2018 the equipment, frequency and facilities of Canal 100% Noticias were confiscated.

Between December 2018 and June 2019, Mora was imprisoned by the dictatorship on charges of inciting hatred to promote terrorist acts during anti-government protests. He was released six months later under a controversial amnesty law.

In 2020 he showed his interest to run as a candidate for the Presidency of Nicaragua in the 2021 presidential elections; he was the candidate for the outlawed Democratic Restoration Party (PRD), which caused him to once again be a target of the dictatorship, who once again kidnapped him.
