Miguel Ángel Toma resigned as government prosecutor since March

The government prosecutor, Miguel Ángel Toma, presented his resignation from the post on March 17, but the Executive Branch did not make this fact public until it now emerged thanks to a request for access to information.

As published Underlinedthe resolution of the Ministry of Public Education (MEC) has the date mentioned, but it was only known now because the journalist of said medium, Daniel Rodríguez, made the request to access the data.

“The administration does not recognize or validate any of the assertions argued on the occasion of the resignation,” affirms the Executive Power in accepting the resignation. Toma deposited all pending money in state coffers and has no debts with the administration.

The journalist had requested to know the contents of Toma’s resignation letter, but the government did not send it, and only commented: “The acceptance of the resignation in no case means validating or acknowledging the statements that the official makes in his request.”
