Migrations: If Juan Silva goes to a checkpoint, he will be made available to the police

The Migration Superintendent, Jorge Fernández Campos, assured that if former Minister Juan Silva, or any other subject with an arrest warrant, is found at a checkpoint to leave the country, he will be captured and handed over to the authorities.

“If Mr. Juan Silva or any other citizen who had an arrest warrant or exit impediment, went to a checkpoint in charge of Migrations, he would be put at the disposal of the Police”assured this Saturday in statements to RPP.

The head of Migration recalled that the administrative control of the entry and exit checkpoints of the country falls to this superintendency, while the protection of the rest of the border corresponds to the PNP and the Armed Forces.

In this sense, he assured that if they had any information about an attempt to leave the country by former Minister Juan Silva, they would put it in the hands of the corresponding authorities.

“We have a record of the migratory alerts in the case and they indicate both the impediment to Juan Silva’s departure and the arrest warrants issued by the Judiciary, which are fully in force.”he stated.

Former Minister Juan Silva, investigated by the Public Ministry for allegedly belonging to a criminal organization that involves the Ministry of Transport and Communications, has been barred from leaving the country for 36 months since June, as well as a preliminary arrest against him issued by the Power of attorney.
