What is a passport for?
If a person wishes to travel outside the country, they must process their passport electronic or biometric, document that is issued in the country by the National Superintendency of migrations.
It will not be necessary to have a passport to travel to Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. You can enter these countries with your DNI.
Abroad, the electronic passport is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the consular offices of Peru abroad.
The electronic passport contains a microchip with the biometric data (fingerprints and facial image) of the applicant, and has security elements.

How to obtain the electronic passport?

How to obtain a passport for minors?

How to obtain the electronic passport for emergency?
If you have a scheduled trip and need a new electronic passport due to an emergency situation, you can process it at the Migration headquarters in Breña, or at the zonal headquarters in the interior of the country (except Ilo). from 48 hours prior to the departure of your flight.
