The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) reported that between January and October 2025 there has repatriated to 310,499 Haitian citizens in irregular immigration status, which represents an increase of 72% compared to the total deportations carried out in 2024, when 180,417 cases were registered.
In the process, 5,123 operations of interdiction
The figure, considered historic by the authorities, reflects the strengthening of the immigration strategy of the Dominican Government, which has intensified the operations of interdiction throughout the national territory with the support of citizen security forces.
The DGM explained that its immigration policy is based on the deterrence of irregular flows, the strengthening of border controls and the implementation of mechanisms of ordered return. In addition, the protection of human rights has been prioritized, with special attention to minors, pregnant women and vulnerable groups.
“The efforts we execute reflect the strengthening of capabilities deployed with inter-institutional support, the modernization of procedures and the promotion of policies that stimulate formalization and international cooperation“, indicated the institution.
The DGM reaffirmed its commitment to social stability and territorial integrity of the country, ensuring that it will continue working to face the immigration challenge effectively and respectfully.
