Migration from Mexico to the US grew rapidly in recent years

The encounters with Mexican migrants at the border with the United States totaled 560,579 in fiscal year 2022, according to figures from the United States Customs and Border Protection Office.

This implied an increase of 35.3% compared to the previous fiscal year. With this rebound, four consecutive years have been added with an upward trend in border encounters with Mexican migrants.

The trend is similar if encounters with migrants from Central America and other nationalities are considered.
