The Ministry of Social Development (Mides) resolved that next Monday, August 1, will be the start date of the “pilot plan” of collective provision for the Personal Assistants program. This project begins in Salto, where the first binomials (link between assistant and assisted person) will be formed.
The conformation of the “pilot plan” of collective provision is the result of the joint work of the Ministry of Social Development, BPS, Inacoop, Ministry of Labor and Social Security, among other partners of the National Integrated Care System.
As reported by the Secretary of State, the Mepakis cooperative (which submitted to the public registry call and has personal assistants trained in dependency care) will be the one to start the initiative in one of the three regions of the country in which it is planned. .
The “pilot plan” will work in parallel to the current model of Personal Assistants, its implementation seeks to avoid the existing legal instability and will contribute to the goal of exceeding a thousand registrations for the program in 2022.
Within this framework, so far in 2022, more than 1,200 assessments have been carried out throughout the country, among which more than a thousand people were found to be candidates to participate in the Personal Assistants program. Of these assessments, 703 people have already been summoned to notify the territorial offices of the Ministry of Social Development.
In coordination with the MIDES territorial office in Salto, next Tuesday the 26th, the National Secretary for Care and Disability, Nicolás Scarela, and the Ministry’s Care Director, Florencia Krall, will be in Salto where they will meet with members of the cooperative.
