SANTO DOMINGO.-The Ministry of Defense (MIDE) pensioned 3,041 members of the Armed Forces in the last 22 months, pensions in which the Retirement Board and Pension Funds of the Armed Forces will invest RD$1,275,000,000.00 each year, for the payment of the pensioners.
The information was offered by the president of the Armed Forces Retirement and Pension Funds Board (JRFPFFAA), Major General Carlos Fernández Onofre, who said that the new pensioners correspond to the period from August 20, 2020 to the current date.
As indicated among the new pensioners of the military corps, there are 72 general officers, 357 senior officers, 502 junior officers, 425 enlisted, 257 assimilated, as well as 1,428 widows, widowers, guardians and guardians.
Major General Fernández Onofre announced that the Retirement Board will continue executing the process of granting pensions, in accordance with the provisions of the Organic Law of the Armed Forces 139-13, of September 2013.
The pensioners served for a period of 20, 25 and 30 in the Army, Navy and Air Force of the Dominican Republic, and will receive the benefit of the pension, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 139-13 of the Armed Forces .
The function of the Retirement Board and Pension Funds of the Armed Forces is to recognize and pay the monetary allocations of retirement to passive military personnel, and all its actions are aimed at consolidating their well-being and that of their families, an action contemplated in the strategic axis to guarantee the social security of the military.
The pension benefits are part of the concern of the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, to recognize the merits for the service provided to the nation and optimize the functioning of the Armed Forces personnel, contemplated in the government program to improve the quality life of soldiers and their families.
