He Middle Class Bonus, an important benefit granted by the Government in response to the coronavirus pandemic, has generated great interest among the population. This contribution, which was delivered for the last time in 2021, consisted of an aid of up to $500,000 for individual workers and entrepreneurs who experienced a decrease of at least 20% in their income due to the health crisis.

The main requirement to qualify for the Middle Class Bonus is that the applicant’s average formal income between the second semester of 2019 and the second semester of 2020 is equal to or greater than the minimum wage and less than or equal to $2,000,000.
This is evaluated to determine if the individual is within the established income range to access the Middle Class Bonus. In addition, it is necessary that the applicant’s formal income has experienced a reduction of at least 20%. This is verified by comparing the income for the second half of 2020 with the same period of the previous year.
If this is fulfilled requirement, the person is considered to have suffered a significant decrease in income due to the economic effects of the pandemic. Regarding the possibility of the Middle Class Bonus being delivered in 2023, no official statement has been issued so far by the authorities.
