The regional director of the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) of Panama East, Eng. Francisco López, in an interview with Radio Panama gave details of the program “A Better Stallion” in the Chepo sector where stallions were delivered, including 90 Zebu, 14 milk and 5 European, in addition to 365 kilograms of improved grass benefiting 73 producers.
“In the delivery of the stallions, all were delivered through a very in-depth analysis by our technicians to all those producers who classified as small producers, we are in a monthly production of grade C milk of 375, 548 liters, which means that if an impact is being achieved with the program A Better Stallion in terms of milk producers” said López
The objective of this Un Mejor Stallion program is to catapult national agricultural production in areas such as milk, nutritional matter and better meat quality for the country’s industry, which is why the delivery of high genetic quality stallions, supplanting low quality stallions.
It is expected that the next delivery will be for next year with stallions with a genetic quality in meat and milk, López also informed that specifically in the area of Panama East in other areas they are also working with many tubers and on December 13 will have a meeting with a company that is setting up a processing plant, if an agreement is reached, this will greatly benefit the producers of this region, for this meeting in the township of Tortí we have more than 100 invited producers, concluded López.
