The opening of this store, located in the Torre Universal building in La Sabana in the center of this capital, was attended by President Carlos Alvarado, members of his government and Microsoft executives in Latin America, Central America and Costa Rica.
At the opening ceremony, the general manager of Microsoft Central America, Daniel Verswyvel, stated that the expansion of his company’s operations in the country is the result of the continuous effort to continue transforming and innovating with the Costa Ricans as they continue to increase their presence here.
Likewise, for continuing to strengthen the technological ecosystem and empowering all people and organizations to achieve more, said the regional director of Microsoft, a multinational technology company based in Redmond, Washington, United States.
The company, whose name is a portmanteau of microcomputer and software, develops, manufactures, licenses and supports personal computers, servers, electronic devices and services.
Verswyvel highlighted that the facilities at Torre Universal provide the ideal environment to shape the future of technology and to work with its clients and business partners for the digital transformation of Costa Rica and America.
“Our new headquarters has been designed to generate the best experience for our growing number of collaborators, offer them a flexible and inclusive work environment, generate well-being and favor collaboration and creativity, always with sustainability and the Costa Rican culture as a hallmark”, express.
On his side, the president thanked the directors of Microsoft for their deep trust in his country and in its human talent.
“The accelerated growth in our country of one of the most important companies in the world is a clear sign that Costa Rica has the resources, education and highly qualified human talent to be a benchmark for digital transformation in the world, working hand in hand with companies like Microsoft”, stressed Alvarado.
During the inauguration of the modern and intelligent offices, they highlighted that in the last four years, Microsoft Costa Rica went from having 60 to 1,500 employees, with which it became the largest headquarters in Latin America, as well as -they indicated- three business units provide regional services from this nation.
