The American giant Microsoft On Tuesday an investment of 30,000 million dollars in the United Kingdom announced, half of them in remote computing and artificial intelligence (AI), when President Donald Trump starts an official visit to that country.
This commitment is the most important of a set of 31,000 million pounds (about 42,200 of dollars) in investments of US companies in AI and Punta technologies, announced by the British government on the occasion of Trump’s visit.
At the same time, a bilateral agreement will be signed to promote technological cooperation between the United Kingdom and the United States in the AI fields, quantum computing and nuclear energy, the British executive said in a statement.
The United Kingdom is one of the countries that has attracted the most private investments in the field of artificial intelligence in the last ten years, behind China and far from the United States, according to the Intelligence Index 2025 artificial report of Stanford University.
Microsoft’s investment, which will take place over four years, includes 15,000 million dollars “to develop cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence” and, in particular, “build the largest supercomputer in the country”, while the rest will go to the existing operations of the company.
The American technological giant Google announced on Tuesday that it will invest more than 6,790 million dollars in AI data and project centers in the United Kingdom over two years.
