The municipality of Miches continues its steps towards development as an important tourist center in the Dominican Republic. This area of the El Seibo province has convinced investors, who have bet on a destination that, in addition to beautiful beaches for hotel complexes, has other attractions that complement the country’s tourist offer.
And in addition to the investments in hotel projects that have been taking place for some years, the municipality of El Seibo is now adding the construction of two new hotels and a shopping plaza, at a cost of more than US$100 million.
For this, President Luis Abinader led on Saturday the symbolic ceremony that marks the beginning of the construction of the La Quinta by Wyndham hotel, the VolaVille airplane hotel and the Downtown 7Palma, which will be built in alliance between the Wyndham, De Valle and 7Palma.
The La Quinta by Wyndham hotel, which will provide about 80 rooms and will be an affordable product, that is, low-cost accommodation, will be inside Downtown Miches, the shopping center that would have a variety of tourist offers for visitors.
“We have thought about a 360 complex that does not exist in Miches. “La Quinta Miches concludes the initial phase of the La Quinta Nationwide hotel network, which includes the hotels in Puerto Plata and San Francisco de Macorís,” he explained. Edward De Valle, CEO of the De Valle Group.
He said that the project will have an approximate investment of US$12 million and will generate about 40 direct jobs in its operation, but that during its construction over 18 months about 300 indirect jobs would be generated.
While in response to the investment announcements, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, recalled that the private sector agreed to invest US$1,000 million in hotels in Miches.
“There are already 2,200 rooms under construction here, of which 1,000 will open in December. Miches is going to represent US$255 million in taxes each year and 230 thousand tourists annually for the DR,” he said while recalling that the Government was committed to developing the necessary works to promote the municipality’s tourist destination.
Luxury hotel with airplanes
On his side when detailing his hotel project, Carlos Rafael ManzanoCEO of 7Palms, highlighted that “Downtown 7Palms Miches” is a US$25 million flagship project, which will serve as a central point of progress in the region, combining commercial, residential, hotel, entertainment and leisure establishments in the middle of the natural landscape. and unique to Miches.
Manzano added that the services associated with Downtown 7Palms Miches will complement the tourist and residential offering, offering various activities in one place, which will enrich community life and increase economic opportunities.
Likewise, the businessman indicated that VolaVille is much more than a hotel: it is an architectural masterpiece that fuses innovation, since each plane will have two main suites, for a total of six suites, with unique designs and thematic inspiration, as well as a decoration characterized by finely selected materials.
