The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, reported this Monday that she will send a representation to the swearing-in ceremony of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, scheduled for January 10, 2025.
During his usual news conference At the National Palace in Mexico City, President Sheinbaum was asked if she had been invited to participate in the event.
“A representation or the ambassador himself who is in Venezuela will go,” responded the head of state in reference to the diplomat Leopoldo de Gyves de la Cruz.
Sheinbaum was also asked about her presence at the inauguration of the president-elect in the United States, Donald Trump, which will be on January 20, 2025. “I understand that there are still no invitations, not only to Mexico, but there are still no invitations in general,” he said.
President Maduro will be sworn in at the National Assembly to hold office during the period 2025-2031, after being the winner of the elections held on July 28.
