Mexico holds, this Sunday, April 10, the recall referendum to decide whether the president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador continue his six-year term or leave power.

The consultation was encouraged by López Obrador himself, who has 60% support from the Mexican population.

“We participate in the historic democratic exercise that is taking place today throughout the country. Democracy must be a way of life, a habit of Mexicans so that no one feels absolute. The people are the rulers”, said the President of Mexico, after participating in the process.

The advisory president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Lorenzo Córdova, described as successful the consultation for the revocation of the mandate that takes place in Mexico. As reported by the newspaper ExcelsiorCórdova said that the irregularities reported during the day are minimal and assured that there will be no electoral fraud.

Until noon this Sunday, the Mexican electoral body said that citizen participation can be described as “irregular”, because there are entities with copious participation and others with low participation.
