E: Considering these changes, what trends in taxes, audit will we be seeing around the world?
FL: Our expectation is that we will see many changes, both regulatory changes and legislative changes, rules elimination and introduction of new rules. And that’s when advisors are needed.
That’s where we feel that we have something to offer in Baker Tilly because we have been in these environments many times before, and we are also helping the client to deal with that, because companies do not like instability. It is difficult to make good decisions. It is difficult to know what way to take. You can never say that everything is fine, but that is what we would expect to see that customers really ask: what am I, what should I do? What are my pieces in the short term and where are my long -term visions?
So, I think that is what we will see at least during the next few years. A very volatile environment, but in reality worldwide, which I understand that it is a very wide panorama. Worldwide, economists are still doing quite well. There is still a lot of growth. There is still a lot of ambition. There are still many opportunities. So, despite some of the challenges that are undoubtedly there, there is still much to do.
And the boom of technology will affect everyone; The need of customers to find new ways of working and different things to do, the desire to bring great talents and attract great talents, there are many very positive things that are happening economically.
E: In Mexico, tax authorities use and refine more and more technology for the subject of their reviews, how can companies use technology?
FL: I think technology will change everything for practically all companies, but that does not mean that the company becomes completely different. It is simply how they can take advantage of that technology in a way that helps them get where they are. Technology is nothing without people.
I know that this fantastic discussion is about how AI will change the world and will, but in reality, what we have seen a lot at this time is a really sophisticated automation. Actually, it is allowing companies to do what they do more effectively, more efficiently. And then, improving talent skills so that I can learn to use technology, but also to work with it, the merger of humanity and technology will be very important.
E: What does Mexico offer to the growth of Baker Tilly?
FL: It has great recognition for being a great place to work and you have to work hard to achieve it. That is why it attracts excellent people. He is providing services to interesting customers in the average market, and I think he has a true ambition and vision for the future.
So, it can be an attractive proposal for customers because they can see that you are not only doing really good things in your domestic market, but is really connected to the world.
E: Does this vision remain despite any decision that can be realized in the political environment?
FL: Yes, politicians come and go, the values are maintained.
