According to the trade, hitmen from Mexico and other countries would have been sent to Quito to plan attacks and generate disturbances after the elections held on April 13.
“The planning of possible terrorist attacks is known in the main bridges of Ecuador, banking institutions and other state institutions,” reads the alleged document.
The SRE denied the version, as well as the narrative that is generated in Ecuador and that involves Mexico with criminal acts in that country.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs sharply rejects the repeated and unscrupulous creation of narratives in official communications and/or leaks of official documents that allude to Mexico as a source of alleged criminal acts or internal situations of their country,” he says.
The agency recalled in its brief statement that the rupture of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Ecuador occurred in 2024, after the assault on the Mexican embassy in Quito by Ecuadorian forces, with the aim of capturing former vice president Jorge Glas, who was under political asylum in the diplomatic headquarters.
However, he stressed, Mexico will be guided and will always be guided under the principle of non -intervention.
This Saturday, the Ministry of Government of Ecuador published a statement entitled: “The revenge of bad losers”, in which it is declared in maximum alert and condemns the facts referred to in the intelligence document on the gestation of an alleged assassination.
The Ecuadorian government document indicates that what is sought is that after the past electoral results, the institutions are destabilized and the peace of the inhabitants of that country is violated.
On April 16, President Claudia Sheinbaum said that Mexico will not resume relations with Ecuador while Daniel Noboa is president, since she points out of being the alleged responsible for entering the Mexican embassy in that country.
“We have no relations with Ecuador or we will continue to have relations with Ecuador while exercising the position of president, because he was responsible for the invasion of the Mexico Embassy, to our sovereignty. Then relations will not be resumed,” he explained.
